I am leaving this page up for historical purposes, but I do not keep my Mr. T Experience pages current anymore, so all there is here are the archives.

3/30/98: Check out the Musicvideos.com website! You can see the MTX videos for “Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba,” “And I Will Be With You,” and “I Fell For You.” You do have to register, but it’s free! Also, check out the online fanzine Shark Sandwich! Issue #3 has an MTX interview.

3/23/98: Check out an MTX feature on pseudo.com. It’s kinda hard to find. When you load up the home page, click on “schedule” on the browse bar in the upper left corner. On the next page, click on the Sucker! link. You can then look up MTX in the archives by clicking on “archives” in the imagemap on the left hand side. It should be under 3/17/98.

1/12/98: New Article
Ok guys, sorry this took me so long. I’ve been holding off on MTX stuff for a while, for reasons I won’t mention. But here is the article The Mr. T. Experience and the People Who Love Them that appeared in the September 26, 1997 issue of BAM (Bay Area Music). It is probably already on all the other MTX web pages, but I planned on putting it up here when I got it, so I am doing it anyway. It’s a personal victory ok! Bear with me! : )

11/8/97: Read a new interview with Dr. Frank at eWire’s incredibly cool website.

9/27/97: New Pics! A friend of mine went to the record-release party for "Revenge is Sweet" in San Francisco...Due to the poor lighting, he wasn’t able to get any great pictures, but he did get a few.

8/29/97: Read the San Francisco Chronicle’s recent article on MTX!

8/20/97: All kinds of new releases to talk about...

The New 7”
MTX recently released a new 7” containing 3 songs, “...And I Will Be With You,” a cover of the Elton John tune “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” and “You Alone.” The 7” is only $3 from Lookout!, so go ahead and get it!

The New Album
You can now hear songs from the new album, Revenge is Sweet, and So Are You on the Lookout! site, namely “With My Looks and Your Brains” and the above “And I Will Be With You.” Both are very good songs, although the first one is my favorite. The new album will be released on 8/26/97, to be shortly followed by their release party in San Francisco at Slim’s, which <sigh> I unfortunately cannot attend. The album is available through Lookout! now.

The New Comp
MTX also released 2 songs on the recent Lookout! compilation More Bounce to the Ounce - “We are the Future People of Tomorrow” and “Whistlebait.” The former is a great little tune, chock full of hilarity.

Re-release of Big Black Bugs Bleed Blue Blood
MTX recently rereleased this little gem, and ironically, although the original only had 7 songs on it, the rerelease is jam-packed with 24 hopping tunes. MTX took it upon themselves to throw in all sorts of out-of-print, hard-to-find classics on this rerelease. The track list includes old 7”s, songs off of old comps, including the Shonen Knife and R.E.M. covers, covers of the Speed Racer and Spiderman themes, and much, much more!! It’s great and I soooo recommend that you pick it up. It has advanced me toward my goal of hearing/owning everything they’ve released so far beyond my wildest dreams.

6/20/97: Just a quick note. The new MTX album is now completed. It promises to please, enticing us with such song titles as “Lawnmower of Love,” “Swiss Army Girlfriend,” “Hell of Dumb,” “The Weather’s Here, Wish You Were Beautiful,” and “King Dork,” among others.

6/11/97: Unfortunately, the video for “I Fell for You” was turned down by MTV, as was the latest Queers video. However, Dr. Frank does make a cameo appearance in the Queers video for Punk Rock Girls.”

4/22/97:You might be interested to know that in March, Joel, Dan Panic (Screeching Weasel), Billie Joe (Green Day), and Penelope Houston (a singer well-known in San Francisco) got together and recorded 3 songs for a special project. Reprise will be releasing this under Penelope’s name.

As some of you may know, Dallas Denery, whose younger brother is John, leader of the Hi-Fives on Lookout, was the singer for the acclaimed East Bay group, Sweet Baby. The band the Bomb Bassets is MTX plus Dallas Denery. In July a new Bomb Bassets record, Take a Trip, comes out. Apparently, Joel has done some of his own songwriting for the record.

MTX has spent this last week in the studio doing the instrumental tracks for their new album. We can look forward to such new numbers as “Here She Comes, There She Goes.” Late August is the target date for release.

As I’m sure you all know, the video for “Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba” was recently aired on MTV, and features Frank actually smiling. The word is that “I Fell for You” is currently being submitted to MTV and has already appeared in Canada. I hear it’s pretty funny.
